Part of a series I shot for Valspar paint. These chameleons are absolutely beautiful creatures. I’ll post more soon, including some BTS. I’m very honored to be part of these excellent concepts from DraftFCB in Chicago.
Check out this spot I directed for Frost Bank. We shot 3 other videos and over 10 prints ads for their 2013 campaign.

Part of a series for Frost Bank. Great creative from McGarrah Jessee. You can see this in the most recent edition of Texas Monthly.
Here’s a collection of hilarious outtakes from our shoot for Shiner Beer at Windy Point, Lake Travis. This was, historically, one of the windiest days in Austin. And some of the worst conditions I’ve shot in. We experienced sustained winds over 40mph (with gusts up to 60mph) the entire shoot and temps in the 40s. The shot had to go to press the following day so there was no postponing this shoot. We created a half-moon of cars behind the camera to shelter the wind but as you can see, it only did so much. The talent, Jenny and Kerby were great sports and just gritted their teeth (and sand) as the wind kept on coming. All of us were digging sand out of our ears, cameras, and cars for weeks. But we got the shot so I guess all is well that ends well!

Ad for Shiner Beer during SXSW. Great design and art direction from John Tullis and the rest of McGarrah Jessee.
Potty break! Here’s an ad I shot for Huggies Pull-Ups this past December. The little girl was an awesome performer. A total ham! Great creative from the folks at Ogilvy in Chicago. I’m also including a couple shots of myself and the very talented Michele Avantario directing the little girl to throw her hands up like a monster. It was a fun shoot to be a part of!
Lowes Valspar Paint new commercial. I shot the print ads that correspond with this campaign & will share asap. I did NOT direct these. Excellent creative from DraftFCB in Chicago. Great job by The Mill in NY on the CG & Post.

I’m excited to share my most recent promo, which hits mailboxes this week. With the help of The Butler Bros here in Austin, we created more than just a traditional promotional piece. We wanted to send out something useful and classic. So we created a scoutbook themed as a photography field journal. In order to increase usability we included a custom pencil and designed a band to connect the pencil with the journal. We then created 4 postcards from my series for LL Bean’s 100th year anniversary. The postcards, which are perforated together, are designed to be usable. We used a Neenah classic linen stock to give the postcards a textured and warm look. The Butler Bros concepted each vintage postcard based on Maine’s beautiful Acadia National Park, which is where the images were shot. To round out the presentation we had a custom red tape made inspired by the traditional washi tape used in mailings in the past. The tape was applied to a Kraft stay-flat mailer to protect the entire kit.
This was a great collaboration. I’m especially grateful to The Butler Bros who’ve been mentors & friends to me over the past 10 years and agreed to take on this project. Also, sending out a huge thanks to Mike Plouf at Blanks Printing and the folks at Scoutbooks.com
